Ethan Porter

Flute, Saxophone

Ethan is a woodwind performance major at Weber State University on track to graduate in the spring of 2024. He has been playing flute for ten years, and has played saxophone for four years. Ethan has been performing in different ensembles for years, including the Cache Valley Community Band in Logan where he’s from, and the new Harmonic Winds Community Band in Clearfield. In high school, Ethan played in concerto night, and got a superior rating at state solo and ensemble playing that concerto. In the last few years while studying at WSU Ethan has played in the concert band on flute and piccolo, he has played flute in the orchestra, as well as performing saxophone in the orchestra on the Shostakovich jazz waltz. Ethan has played in several jazz combos at Weber State and within the community playing multiple performances at the Union Station and at the Egyptian Theater. 

When not playing music Ethan considers himself an extrovert, always trying to make plans with friends and family.
