Emily Kinsella

Piano & Violin

Emily has been playing the piano since she was 4 years old. She also plays organ and violin. She has taught piano students of all ages since 2011, and is passionate about sharing the joy and growth that comes with learning to play an instrument.

 

After years of private study, Emily received her Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University, where she studied Elementary Education and Music. Emily has taught music in a variety of situations and specializes in teaching young students. She taught preschool music for three years, and has been a guest teacher in Brigham Young University’s Young Musicians Academy and in music classrooms within Utah’s schools. 

 

Emily maintains active membership in the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and the Utah Music Teachers Association (UMTA). She is dedicated to continual professional development and regularly attends workshops, conferences, and courses to learn about current research and best teaching practices. She loves to incorporate games into her lessons whenever possible!

 

Emily has spent many years performing as both a soloist and ensemble musician. She has performed in several state piano competitions and has provided music at dozens of weddings and special events. She has ten years’ experience as a choir accompanist and has had the chance to tour across the United States and Europe as part of musical ensembles. She has had the privilege to perform with groups such as the Utah Ambassadors of Music, the Weber State Symphony Orchestra, BYU’s University Chorale and University Orchestra, and the Rocky Mountain Piano Team. As an organist, she has performed at the Tabernacle on Temple Square in Salt Lake City and in many local congregations.
