PHILIP GLASS
Philip Glass has composed hundreds of pieces of music.
He is an American composer of innovative instrumental, vocal and operatic music.
Glass studied flute as a boy and enrolled at age 15 at the University of Chicago where he studied math and philosophy and graduated in 1956.
When he first started composing many people thought his music was crazy. He had to work as a plumber and a taxi driver to earn a living and play his music for free.
His most famous piece is Metamorphosis.
