Andrea Burris
Trumpet & Flute
Born and raised in central Ohio, Andrea graduated from Capital University in 2022 with a bachelor’s in music education. She has been playing the trumpet since 2010, performing in various ensembles to include brass quintet, concert band, big band, marching band, symphony and pit orchestras. One of her greatest accomplishments was performing at Carnegie Hall with her brass band, sitting principal solo cornet. She has also been playing flute since 2019, often playing with her students during student teaching. Andrea’s favorite part about teaching is making connections with students of all ages and seeing them progress and develop their musical abilities.
Andrea moved to Utah in February of 2023 due to her husband being relocated in the Air Force, and is excited to explore the area and get involved in the music community. She currently serves as the music teacher for Oak Hills Elementary in Bountiful. In her free time, Andrea enjoys eating ice cream and spending time with her two cats Ginny and Fearn.
