Laura Harris

PIANO, VIOLIN, VIOLA

Laura is a happy, energetic music lover! Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote, "Music is the universal language of mankind." Plato wrote, "Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything." Music is life!
Laura began playing the piano at age six, the violin at age eight, and the viola at age fourteen. She has played with a variety of orchestras and small groups. One of her top favorite orchestras was the United States Youth Orchestra. It was a large orchestra composed of students from all across the USA, who came together and toured Europe for three weeks. Over the years, she studied with various teachers.

After high school, Laura began to teach private lessons in her home while her children were little. Once her children were in school, she joined a community orchestra. On the piano she has accompanied many choirs and solo performers.

By day, Laura is a ABA therapist. She plays the organ and piano for her church and Viola with the Skyward Symphony.
