Hi! My name is Sam Rockwood, I’m a sophomore music student at Weber State University majoring in a Bachelor of Arts, emphasis on music. I’m currently in the Weber State Symphony Orchestra, and it has been so much fun working with all of these talented musicians and professors. I’ve also had the opportunity to do small ensemble gigs, such as weddings and dinners, with a quartet group that I met through school.

I play violin and guitar. I love learning new instruments and music styles, and have recently started teaching this year. Music has been a very influential part of my life, creating new opportunities in my schooling and giving me the chance to grow in so many different ways. I love the community that surrounds music, and I want to be a part of it by giving students a creative outlet and skills that they can use in their everyday lives. I’m looking forward to doing that at the Music Academy of Utah!

Some things I enjoy outside of music are snowboarding, hiking, and basketball. I love getting active and finding unique places in nature. I also love reading new books, watching movies and tv shows, and writing.
