Nicole Smith
PIANO, VIOLIN, VIOLA
Nicole holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the College of Idaho and is studying to become a music therapist. Born and raised in San Diego, California to professional musician parents, Nicole began playing the violin and piano around the age of 6 and the viola at age 17. She played her first professional gig at the age of 12 and began teaching when she was 16. She has taught hundreds of students of all ages and levels in California, Utah, and Idaho, and is now back in Utah again.
She has an extensive performance background and has held principal positions on violin and viola in the San Diego Youth Symphony in California and Millennial Choirs and Orchestras in both Utah and Idaho. She has performed concerts all over the United States, and in Mexico, China, and Italy. She regularly subs with the Boise Philharmonic and loves being onstage. Her real passion, however, comes from teaching. She enjoys passing her love of music to the next generation because she wants them to experience the same joy that she has.
Nicole is a proud music nerd and supporter of the arts. She loves attending live theater and concerts, spending time with her 3 children and her many animals, laughing at dumb jokes, and playing games with friends and family.
